The Development of Organic Carbon Polymer

Organic carbon polymers have excellent solvent resistance, oil resistance, weather resistance, high temperature resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, salt spray resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and surface self-cleaning properties due to their elemental properties. They play a very important role in high performance materials.
Widely used in coatings, surfactants, fire retardants, machinery, electronics, medicine, optics and many other fields, especially in the coatings industry, it has rapidly developed.

However, organic carbon polymers also have many drawbacks, such as poor adhesion to the substrate, poor wettability to pigments and fillers, and poor low temperature resistance when used in coatings. If the chlorine content is high, the price of such coatings is relatively high, which limits the promotion and application of nitrogen resin coatings.Therefore, in recent years, other organic resins (such as organosilicon) have been commonly used to modify carbon resins, preparing modified organic nitrogen carbon resins with better performance and more reasonable prices.

Organic silicon is used to modify carbon containing resin, and its organic silicon coating has excellent weather resistance, hydrophobicity, oil repellency, dirt repellency, corrosion resistance, low surface energy, chemical stability, and high and low temperature resistance compared to ordinary coatings. It has excellent UV resistance and anti-static dust absorption properties, aiming to enhance the impact resistance, hardness, and adhesion to the substrate of the coating, while reducing the crystallinity of the resin, and improving transparency and gloss.Applying it to aircraft windshields and window glass can improve driver visibility in rainy days. It can also be used as a surface coating on metals, ceramics, plastics, and leather.

In the 1950s and 1960s, silicone coatings were widely promoted and applied abroad, mainly in the field of special coatings, such as advanced vehicle decoration, rocket and aircraft surface finishing, naval ship anti-corrosion and anti fouling, and large-scale bridge building anti-corrosion. China's silicone coating has also begun to be promoted and applied in the field of heavy anti-corrosion. The silicone coating has extremely low surface energy and significant solvent resistance, making it an important application in new coatings.
The antifouling coating used for ocean ships has better performance than self polishing coatings made of organic silicon, providing a new way to develop non toxic antifouling coatings for ship bottoms. The protective coating for solar energy devices in sandy areas exerts its advantages of low surface energy and self-cleaning effect. Due to its low friction, it is used as a lubricant and protective coating for magnetic recording media, as well as a protective coating for some optical devices such as cameras and lenses.
Nitrogen silicon coating has better elongation than any previous resin coating and is less prone to cracking and peeling, making it an ideal engine coating. In addition, silicone paint can be used for building decoration, outdoor sculptures, advertisements, road signs, water repellent, oil repellent, and dirt repellent occasions.
